About This Race
The Live Brave 5K and 1 Mile is a meaningful charity race celebrating its 5th anniversary, held at the scenic Colby Lake Park in Woodbury, Minnesota. This event supports the Live Brave Fund, part of the Woodbury Community Foundation, which raises awareness, prevention, and recovery resources for eating disorders among youth. With eating disorders being the 3rd most common chronic illness among adolescents and the 2nd deadliest mental illness in the U.S., this race addresses a critical need that has intensified since the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants can choose from three options: the 5K at 8:30 AM, the 1 Mile at 10:00 AM, or the Brave Challenge combining both races. The USATF-certified course features chip timing on flat, fast loops through the beautiful 170-acre park with over 20 miles of trails. Kids 12 and under participate in the 1-mile race for free, making this a true family-friendly community event supporting youth mental health.
