XTERRA Lake Garda. 22rd – 23th May 2021. Week-end of sport and entertainment embracing nature, on Lake Garda’s Brescian side. First stage of the prestigious Triathlon off-road worldwide circuit in the Italian peninsula. XTERRA Lake Garda not only is a competition, but also a village, an outdoor sport venue developing around the race. Which tries to lower the volume and the frenzy of an always more chaotic world and reestablish man’s connection with earth through Triathlon’s challenge, adrenaline of agonism and pleasure of conquering. After last year’s success, beside two Cross Triathlon competitions, in Full and Sprint distance, Open Water, Trail Run and Duathlon Kid will be proposed again.

RACES

TRIATHLON FULL DISTANCE:

Swimming section: 1500m (750m to be repeated twice) including getting out of water and getting back in into the lake through the passage located in front of competition area.

Bike section: 31km (15,5 meters ring with a 500 m positive drop to be repeated twice) with an intermediate passage on the lakeside. The trail requires some technical passages and challenging rise.

Run section: single 11km lap (300 m positive drop) developing between Monte Maderno and Cartiere’s Valley, on mixed paths: asphalt, rocks, untarmacked road.

 

TRIATHLON SPRINT DISTANCE

Swimming section: single 750m lap in the Lake through the passage located in front of the competition area. Bike section: single 12 km lap (400 m positive drop), the trail requires some technical passages and some challenging stretches. Appropriate for the ones who want to approach Off-road Triathlon.

Run section: single 4,8km lap (50 m positive drop) developing between the town’s historical center and the riverside. Mixed path: asphalt/ untarmacked road.

 

DUATHLON KIDS: exciting duathlon cross challenge open to every young athlete, from 6 to 12 years old, who want to challenge themselves with this fascinating discipline in an international environment.

There are 150 places available. Based on the numbers and the age of the contestants there are 3 groups divided for age and distance:

year of birth 11/12/13 distance: 200mt / 400mt / 200mt

year of birth 09/10 distance: 400 mt / 1 km / 400mt

year of birth 06/07/08 distance: 600 mt /1,5 km / 600 mt

every athlete needs to be equipped with his own bike and homologated helmet. When withdrawing bib numbers every athlete needs to show medical certificate for non-agonistic sporting fitness or a recognized card. Every contestant will receive e prize.

TRAIL RUN: trail running competition on the same path faced by the athletes during Sunday competition. it composed of 11 km developed between the lakeside and Cartiere’s Valley. the trail offers suggestive landscapes in an immaculate environment to arrive in the Cartiere’s Valley; from where the lakeside begins (you may need to wet your feet); the last section starts here: the finale will be quick: who known how to store his energies, will succeed in reach the finish line. This is a great chance to test the trail for the ones who will be running on Sunday. The finish line is in the XTERRA Village Arena under the stage of the EX CAMPO IPPICO, where the audience will cheer every constant in order to party together with the award ceremony and the musical evening show tasting the food area.

OPEN WATER SWIM: open water swim competition on a 3000mt distance to be swum in a circuit of 1000mt to be repeated 3 times using the AUSTRALIAN formula: getting out of the water and jump back in after running 30 mt on the beach at the end of every lap. During this short section the audience and the speakers will cheer the contestants and follow the race as well.

The finish line is on dry land: 80 mt from the beach. Every athlete will be provided of a silicon well visible color cap and they will need to wear the recognizing microchip. Wearing wet suit is compulsory.

At the end of the competition you will find a generous food area in the XTERRA Village, where there will be the awarding ceremony.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Important: we remind that in order to compete in XTERRA races in Italy you must possess a national triathlon license. The athletes who do not possess a license can participate requiring the daily membership, which will be released presenting a medical certificate of agonistic sporting fitness to triathlon. Foreign athletes must as well present a medical certificate of agonistic sporting fitness to triathlon, which must be made in an authorized Italian center.The foreign athletes who do not possess anational triathlon license must plan it contacting the organization ([email protected]).
