About This Race
The Noyo Headlands Race is a spectacular 9th annual coastal running event in Fort Bragg, California, offering multiple distances along the scenic California Coastal Trail. This unique race takes place on the newly accessible Noyo Headlands Trail, a 3-mile paved multi-use trail that was locked behind lumber mill gates for over a century. Runners experience breathtaking Pacific Ocean views while supporting the Mendocino Land Trust's conservation mission. The course features a well-maintained 8-foot-wide paved surface that combines asphalt and soft track, making it fairly flat and accessible to all skill levels. With distances ranging from a kids' half-mile to a newly reintroduced half marathon, the race offers something for every runner. The oceanfront trail provides spectacular coastal scenery, wildlife viewing opportunities, and interpretive panels about local natural and human history. Post-race festivities include snacks and coffee from Thanksgiving Coffee Company, creating a community celebration in one of Northern California's most beautiful coastal settings.
