The 1 in 8k Run for Moore is designed to celebrate breast cancer survivors and those undergoing treatment while raising funds to support those in treatment and to provide screenings for those who are uninsured or underinsured.

Normally held on the second Saturday in October, the 2020 edition will be going virtual as we all work to slow the spread of COVID-19. While we won't gather together in Pinehurst this year, there is good news. A virtual race will allow participants from anywhere to take part in supporting our cause and fight against breast cancer. 

We hope you will join us anytime between Oct. 10 and Oct. 18 to show your support for those fighting breast cancer. Run your race at your pace and in your neighborhood! Those who post their time during these dates will be eligible for a prize, and we'll still be providing the coolest T-shirts around for those who sign up. T-shirts will be available for pickup at FirstHealth Fitness Pinehurst (170 Memorial Drive) on Thursday, Oct. 8 and Friday, Oct. 9 from 2 to 8 p.m.

The 1in8K benefits the Foundation of FirstHealth Cancer CARE Fund and mammography scholarships through the Moore Free Clinic. 

Now more than ever, we are proud to support cancer patients and their families in the Sandhills by raising funds to provide assistance with transportation, medications and other needs during treatment. Proceeds will also provide scholarships through the Moore Free & Charitable Clinic for uninsured patients.
