Sunday April 12th, 2015

Braidwood, IL

Official Website

Description

The Route 66 10K hosted by the Metro Milers running club as part of the City of Edwardsville's Route 66 Festival. The festival and race are held on the second Saturday in June. The Route 66 10K is one of the largest 10K's in the St. Louis metro area.

It is known for the stellar race organization by the Metro Milers, the Edwardsville tree-lined streets, and the peaceful Madison County Transit trails. Recently it has become known for the crazy spirit stations that cheer you on (and compete for prize money). Spirit stations have included a full blue grass band, a dancing Chinese dragon, dance and cheer squads, and crazily dressed adults.
