Why It Matters
Your team meetups page just got a major upgrade. Featured events stand out with hero images, recurring series show all upcoming dates at a glance, and team admins can now manage invitations and members from a single dashboard.
What We Learned
We’ve redesigned the team meetups experience from the ground up — making it easier to highlight special events, browse recurring series, and manage your team’s membership all in one place.
What’s New
Featured Events with Hero Images
Special events now appear in their own highlighted section at the top of your meetups page. Add a hero image to any meetup to make it pop — perfect for race-day meetups, group runs with partner brands, or community celebrations.
- Featured Events section — Mark any meetup as a “special event” and it gets prominent placement with a hero image thumbnail
- Hero image uploads — Add eye-catching images to meetups and series via the edit form or API
Redesigned Series Cards
Recurring meetups now display as expandable cards that show all upcoming occurrences inline. Click to expand and see the next 7 dates with RSVP buttons — no more hunting through the calendar to find your Tuesday run.
- Expandable occurrence list — See all upcoming dates for a recurring series at a glance
- Inline RSVP — RSVP directly from the expanded series card without navigating away
- Connected races — Series cards now show associated races so your team knows what they’re training for
Past Meetups & Photo Counts
A new Past Meetups section shows recent events with photo counts, so your team can browse memories and catch up on what they missed. A “View All Past Meetups” link takes you to the full archive.
Admin Portal: Members & Invitations
Team admins now have a dedicated Members & Invitations page in the admin portal. See every invitation’s delivery status (Sent, Delivered, Bounced), resend expired invitations with one click, and manage your team’s roster from a single table view.
- Delivery status tracking — See whether invitation emails were actually delivered or bounced
- One-click resend — Resend invitations that expired or weren’t delivered
- Pending count badge — The members page now shows how many invitations are waiting for a response
- Clickable member cards — Click any member to visit their profile
Under the Hood
This update also includes security hardening for the invitation system (email ownership verification, declined invitation blocking), Turbolinks compatibility fixes across all gallery and admin views, database integrity improvements, and a new external API for connecting races and sponsors to meetups.
