FUN.FAMILY.FITNESS

Miles for Michael's Seventh Annual 5K/10K and Kids Fun run will be held on Saturday May 22, 2021.  The route begins and ends on West Hills Road on the campus of the Walt Whitman High School.  The route is an exceptionally scenic one with challenging hills as well as wonderfully winding flat lands.

The SHEF foundation has partnered with the South Huntington School District to celebrate this day and it has a two fold purpose.  One to celebrate the life of Michael, a 2012 graduate of WWHS, who passed away much too soon from a form of pediatric cancer.  His love was music and computers.  These are two areas that often fall short in district funds due to budgetary constraints and therefore a good place for MFM to direct its proceeds. 

The proceeds support the Arts/Dance and Music programs of the South Huntington School District.

Over the course of the past 7 years, MFM has been able to provide over $100,000 in much need funds to keep the School Districts Art and Music programs alive and thriving.  Each grade level has benefited from this event.  A few examples of MFM's accomplishments are:

• Stage sound systems for our youngest students, a reinstatement of the theater program for our young teenagers and a fully functioning Recording Studio for our high school students.   Along the way we have continued to provide much need replacement instruments for all of our students as they grow in their love of music.

                                                               We have done much but there is still more to conquer..... we are ready!

                                                       MFM's theme for 2021 will be FUN.FAMILY.FITNESS.                                                                                             All three components that are important as we celebrate this special day.  Come join us!

10 Kilometer Run - 9:00 a.m.
1 Mile Kids Fun Run- 8:30 a.m.

For registered Participants- Friday, May 21st 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Walt Whitman High School

RACE DAY CHECK IN:

7:00-8:30 a.m. Walt Whitman High School.
NO registrations will be issued after 8:30 a.m.

PARKING DAY OF RACE:

All parking is through Paumonok Drive which is located off of Jericho Turnpike behind the Walt Whitman High School.
