The 5th Annual North Wales Turkey Trot 8k & 5k & Gobble-Gobble 1/2 Mile Kids’ Fun Run & 2 Mile Walk will be on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, 2019

With the careful planning and cooperation from Montgomery Township, Warrington Township, Penndot and Scoogie Events,

we will be CLOSING DOWN THE US 202 PARKWAY on Thanksgiving Day from 8-10am!

Each of the 8k, 5k & Kid's 1/2 mile runs will take place on the closed US 202 Parkway!!

JUST THE FACTS!

 

🦃8:00 START TIME: The 8k run will begin PROMPTLY at 8:00 followed by the 5k run at 8:03 followed by the kid's run at 8:07 and then the walkers start at 8:10.
🦃BAG CHECK: There will be bag check at the race!!!
🦃RUN ON THE US 202 PARKWAY!!! All three runs and the walk will be completely on the US 202 Parkway! (yes it's COMPLETELY CLOSED TO VEHICLE TRAFFIC!!) This is VERY RARE OPPORTUNITY to run actually ON the parkway with all of your closest friends and NO CARS!  It's THE PERFECT route for an 8k & 5k...it's beautiful, rolling and there are NO CARS!!!
 
*Strollers are welcome...but we ask that they start towards the rear of the start.
And...we will have plenty of folks cheering you on the whole way as well as one water stop for the 5k runners and two for the 8k runners. 
WHY ARE WE ORGANIZING THIS EVENT: Why are we holding this event? Because we want to bring folks together in a meaningful way, get friends and families OUTSIDE to enjoy our beautiful area that we live in and most importantly, to raise funds for the Wissahickon Watershed Association & Ainsley's Angels!!!
Again, Scoogie Events, Montgomery Township, Warrington Township and Kiddie Academy are holding nothing back and pulling out all of the stops to make sure that this event will truly be one for the memory books. 
Having Montgomery Township & Kiddie Academy and the new US 202 Parkway play host to this event is a dream come true. This is a THE perfect location to host an event like this and the US 202 Parkway is THE perfect run course. The combination of these factors and the fact that Scoogie Events is bringing this race to you and will see to it that all runners needs and desires are met, means that this race is surely not to be missed.

🦃INSTANT RESULTS: This event will be CHIP TIMED with the chips embedded in the special edition NWTT race bibs and there will be timing mats at the start, therefor your time starts once you cross the start line. So no need to panic to get to the front:-)
You will get your results EMAILED &/OR TEXTED to you when you cross the finish line!!!!

AWARDS: "You ask for it.....we deliver": From now on, ALL Scoogie events age group awards will be in FIVE YEAR age increments!! Awesome awards for age groups in both the 8k & 5k runs! Awards given for 8K & 5k only, Kids Run is for FUN! Overall winner (male and female), plus top three males and females in each age category: NEW AGE GROUP 0-9! 10-14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over. No mailing of awards or shirts. 
Again, no mailing of awards or shirts. If you have to leave the race early for ANY reason, you must notify us to save your award.  If you do not, we cannot hold/store awards and it will likely be given to a race day entry or someone else. It is simply too much to hold/store & inventory the awards. 

Note: If you are registered for this race and you registered in time to choose a tech 1/4 zip size BUT you are unable to run for whatever reason, you will NEED TO CONTACT us BEFORE RACE DAY and let us know if you'd like us to hold on to your reserved giveaway (tech 1/4 zip) for you to pick up at a future Scoogie Event. If you do not do this, we cannot hold your shirt and it will be given to someone that registered after the deadline. We cannot mail 1/4 zips.

Packet Pick up time & location will be at will be announced on November 20th!

Runners may pick up their packets on race morning starting at 6:30, but it is advised that they pick them up at packet pick up the day before to avoid lines on race day.

PARKING ON RACE DAY: PARKING ON RACE DAY WILL BE AT COST CO PARKING LOT. ***IT IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU ONLY WALK TOWARD STUMP RD AND USE THE SIDEWALK. FOLLOW SIGNS AND CREW MEMBERS DIRECTING YOU!

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING WEATHER:
This event is a rain/shine event.
This means that if it rains (and as long as the temperature isn’t low enough to freeze any surfaces), this event IS A GO…even in the rain….”skin is waterproof😀”
In the event that we experience bad weather such as snow or ice or any weather that would cause the course to be unsafe, we will cancel the event.
There will be no refunds due to the fact that at this point all of the expenses for a race of this magnitude have been paid for.
We will not reschedule the event this year. It would simply be too difficult for a variety of reasons. This event took a great deal of planning and MANY, MANY people, police, townships, store owners etc have been involved to make it happen. To do it all over again at a different date would be nearly impossible in a short time. We will do everything in our power and within reason with make the event happen. But, it’s ALWAYS SAFETY FIRST!
It’s important to understand that IF we need to cancel the event due to extreme weather, we will not issue any refunds and we will not reschedule the event this year.
