Come join us for the 43rd running of the Daisy 5k!

This year's race is now virtual with some exciting options for running and racing alone, with family, and with a team! The race window is October 12-18, 2020. The window for sending in results is open until the end of the day on October 19th.

As always, proceeds from all races benefit Austin-area Marathon Kids programs.

There will be three races at this year's event!

• Daisy 5k (our signature race, with a cross-country-style team option)


• Daisy 10k (an exclusive 2020 addition to the Austin Distance Challenge!)


• Family Mural Mile (run or walk a mile with your family and take pictures in front of one of Austin's famous murals)

Does one race sound too short? If you want to run a second or third race during Daisy Week, you will receive a $5 discount for subsequent registrations! 

Team Challenge

There is an optional competitive element to the Daisy 5k--a cross country style Team Challenge! The Daisy 5k was originally an all women’s race, and we wanted to keep that spirit alive by having a coed competition. Participation in the team challenge is optional, but why not grab some friends and join the fun?

Team Rules:

• Team must have at least five and no more than seven members


• Each team must have at least two male and two female members

Team Registration:

During registration, you will have the option to create a team or join an existing team.

Creating a team

1. Choose your division: Open or Masters. To qualify as a Masters team, all team members must be at least 40 years old.


2. Choose your team name: The first team member to register chooses the team name and has the option of setting a password. Any participant will be able to join a team that does not have a password.


3. Recruit your team: Give your friends the team name (and password, if you have one) so they can join you!


4. Be sure to send friends your referral code! Four friends gets you a free Daisy hat!

 

Join an existing team

• During registration, search for your team’s name and enter the password if there is one.

 

Scoring:

• Points are awarded to the individual runners of eligible teams, equal to the position they hold in the overall standings after the event window concludes on October 18th (first place gets one point, second place gets two points, etc.)


• The team score is the point total from the team’s top two male members, top two female members, and the next fastest finisher (either male or female).


• The team with the lowest score wins!
