Description
1st Annual Jace Landon TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) AfterCare Awareness Foundation 5K
All proceeds go to support Jace Landon TBI AfterCare Awareness Foundation, Incorporated to make a difference through creating change in the way that traumatic brain injury (TBI) aftercare is handled. Our mission is to help those suffering from TBIs and funding further research in this field. We believe if one life is save, the hard work is worth it!
Race Location: Knox Middle School - 1625 Park Road West, Salisbury, NC 28144 - Take I-85 to Salisbury Exit #76 toward downtown. Follow Innes Street straight through town to Mahaley Ave (approx 2.5 miles). Turn right on Mahaley Avenue, then go 0.4 miles to Park Rd. Turn left on Park Rd. Knox Middle School will be on your left.
Course: Mostly Flat, Record Breaking Scenic Course! See course map below. Dogs are not allowed on the course with participants. Thank you for your cooperation.
Start Times: 5K 9:00AM | Fun Run 9:45AM
Race Day Registration: 8:00 a.m. - 8:45 a.m. on site

Age Groups: 11/Under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70/Over
Dry Fit T-Shirts guaranteed to all pre-registered runners and walkers in the 5K. Walkers are eligible for age group awards!
Entry Fee for 5K: $25 pre-registration (by 3-10-23); $30 race day (8:00 – 8:45 a.m.)
Entry Fee for Fun Run (ages 12 & under): $10 pre-registration & race day (2 laps on track)
Facilities: Bathrooms and showers available

Jace's Story
Jace was in a very serious car accident on December 27, 2020. Among many other injuries, he suffered a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). I was out of work for 3 months taking care of him because he could not be left alone. He had to be cleared by many doctors, none of which were for his mental health. Jace struggled with his feelings and impulse control. He reached out for help many times! Jace sadly took his life on Mother’s Day, May 8, 2022. He didn’t even have a chance! Not even a year and a half after his accident and he was gone. My child, gone forever! He was only 20 years old. I believe if he would've been presented with TBI Aftercare, he would still be alive.

Course Map
Start on W. Park Road in front of Knox Middle School, turn right at Hickory Drive, left on E. Park Road, right on W. Park Road, enter Greenway, along the Greenway to Prescott Drive, turn left on Prescott, turn right on Knollwood, turn left on Courtland Drive, turn left on Wake, turn right back onto Prescott. Proceed to end of Prescott, turn around at cul-de-sac and proceed back straight on Prescott and turn right on the Greenway by following the reverse route until you get to Knox. At Knox, turn right at the tennis courts and proceed up and around the track to the right. The race finishes on the track.
The fun run will be two laps around the track.
