Race for Breast Cancer Awareness 5K - in Memory of Christy Bowlin

The Race for Breast Cancer Awareness - in Memory of Christy Bowlin 5K run/walk will be held on October 7th, 2023, on Carson-Newman's campus. The race is in memory of Christy Yonz Bowlin, the Carson-Newman University cheer and dance coach from 2007-2021, who passed away from a courageous battle against breast cancer. Her athletes became part of her family - she prayed for them, encouraged them, mentored them, and cared for them more than anyone would ever know. All benefits will be contributed toward an endowed scholarship in memory of Christy. 

The Race for Breast Cancer Awareness - in Memory of Christy Bowlin 5K route will give you a glimpse of our beautiful campus and town. As we start our race at the Randall and Kay O'Brien Amphitheater, you will navigate through Jefferson City by following along Mossy Creek. You will then cruise through Carson-Newman's beautiful campus, passing Heritage Hall, Drama and Ted Russell Center, Butler Hall, Blye-Poteat Hall, Henderson Humanities Building, Holt Fieldhouse, Gary Wyatt Football Practice Field, and Burke-Tarr Stadium. After you make your way through campus, you will circle your way back towards Mossy Creek and the Randall and Kay O'Brien Amphitheater to the finish line.
