Description
The 5K (3.1 mile) race is a cross-country type race that will take you through our beautiful camp and around our lake. It has a mixture of paved, gravel, and grassy paths. Includes some hills.
This year our event will be back to the usual format. We will have to 1 Mile Children’s Fun Run which stays on the main campus. The 5k race will follow this and the course will start inside the main part of camp and follow a route that will take runners around the lake and up through the woods of our camp.
Event Information
Event Start Times:
- The Fun Run will begin on November 23, 2023 at 9:10 a.m.
- The 5k race will begin at 9:40 a.m.
Cost:
- 5k Race is $26.00 through 11/09/2023 and $32.00 after 11/09/2023.
- 1 Mile Children’s Fun Run is $9.00
- Mom or Dad may run alongside their child in the Fun Run at no charge.
Registration:
- Online registration will remain open until 8:00 p.m. on 11/22/23.
- Registration will open again on on Race Day and will remain open until 9:20 a.m.
- We are adding fully automated registration this year. You may register online before you arrive or when you arrive using your cell phones. Once you are registered, you will proceed to the registration table to check-in and to receive your Race Bib.
- Registration and race packet pick-up will begin on 11/23/2023 starting at 7:45 a.m.
- Registration and check-in are in the camp’s Dining Hall
- For those who are preregistered, when you check in on race day, you can go to the check-in tables to receive your Race Bib. Once you have your race bib you can go to pre-registered t-shirt table to pick up your race shirt.
Awards and T-Shirts
Awards:
- All child participants who finish the Fun Run will receive a Finisher's Medal.
- First place trophies to the overall female and male runners of the 5K race.
- Medals to the top three male and female finishers in each age group.
- Chip Timing for the 5k Race will be provided by Second Wind Race Timing. Results will be available on their website.
Age Groups:
- Both women and men are: 11 & Under, 12-14, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70 and up.
T-Shirts:
- Guaranteed to runners registering by 11/09/2023 and while they last after 11/09/2023.
Important Information
Course Records: The top overall times for the 2022 5k course were 17:08 for males and 20:44 for females.
Parking is located in the field by the lake on north side of Beaver Dam Rd.
Carpooling will help with parking.
Restrooms are available onsite.
Donations are welcomed.
