Commonly Asked Questions:
Where will we be walking/running? The course is on the Gibralter Rock segment of the Ice Age Trail in Lodi, WI. The path is dirt, grass, and gravel the entire way.

Is registration refundable? No, registrations are not refundable – however, you are welcome to transfer your registration to another person up to two days before the event.

Is there a weather cancellation policy? Yes, if the temperature is below freezing, if there is severe lightning, or if conditions are otherwise unsafe the event will be canceled. All registration fees except the processing fees and any expenses will be donated to the Lodi Valley Chapter of the IATA. It is very unlikely the event will be canceled unless there are COVID-19 concerns, so please come dressed appropriately for the weather. Check Fontana Sports’ Facebook page for cancellation notices.

Is this a timed event? No. There will be a clock at the beginning and end so participants can note their times if interested. If you’d like a more specific timing please bring a watch. We will track who are the first finishers for each gender in each distance so the four overall winners will get prizes.

Are there set start times? Yes. The 8 mile starts at 9:00 am and the 4 mile starts at 9:05 am. If you arrive late you are welcome to start late, but you will be out of the running for first place.

Can I bring animals to the event? Animals are allowed at the park but due to narrow trails we ask that for safety reasons they do not accompany you on the run.

How late will this event go? The event will be over by 12:00 pm, but people are welcome to come and go as they please.

Can I bring someone who isn’t registered to the event? Yes, people who are not registered are welcome to attend, cheer on participants, enjoy the atmosphere and donate to the cause for a drink.

When does registration close? Pre-registration will close on Wednesday, October 5th at midnight. Race day registration is available for $5 more a participant.

Is there parking? Yes, there is a parking lot, but not a lot, so please carpool if you can.

Are there restrooms? Yes. Please use the restroom well before start time as there is always a big line right before we get started.

Why is Fontana Sports putting on this event? We enjoy working to raise money for non-profit organizations we believe in while helping our community to get active outdoors. Fontana Sports, which is a locally owned business, has always had a close relationship with the IATA as we find the organization incredibly important for encouraging people to get outside and appreciate the outdoors; as well as the work they do to protect and support Wisconsin lands. The Hutchinsons and Gansers, who own Fontana Sports, have had so many great adventures, day hikes and winter explorations on the IAT. We hope you’ll join us!
