November promises to be a very exciting month for sporting events.   November provides runners with countless Turkey Trots and for soccer fans the worlds largest soccer tournament will take place in Qatar.  The World 5K Cup will host an awesome 5K run/walk through the streets of Plantation Florida along with testing your soccer skills in our Soccer Skills Competition.  You will not want to miss this unique event that has a little of something for everyone.

The World 5K Cup will determine which county has the greatest athletes.  You will earn points for your country throughout the event.  Points will be earned through your finishing position in the 5K run/walk.  Points will also be earned at each soccer skills challenge.  The points you earn will be awarded to the country you represent.  The county with the most points at the completion of the World 5K Cup will earn the title “Most Athletic Country”.  The World 5K Cup will present the “Most Athletic Country” to the youth division (ages 1-14) and the adult division (ages 15 and up).  Represent your country and help them win “Most Athletic Country”.

The World 5K Cup run/walk host a 5K that is chipped timed.  Awards will be provided to top 3 (male and female) overall and age groups.  The 5K course will start at Plantation Sunset Park and run along Cleary Blvd and Hiatus Rd, then finish back at Plantation Sunset Park.  It is a fast and flat 5K course that will allow new 5K personal best times for runners.

The World 5K Cup soccer skills competition will allow you to show off your soccer skills in the following events.

1. Target Shots – earn points by striking the target in the corner of the goal.
2. Dribbling – earn points based off your speed and control through a course.
3. Speed – earn points based off the speed (mph) of your shot on goal.
4. Distance – earn points based off the farthest distance you are able to kick the ball.

The World 5K Cup is a fun opportunity to show off your running and soccer skills while representing your country. We encourage you to wear a shirt/jersey to represent your country at the event.  Sign up today and you will have the opportunity to represent your country in becoming “Most Athletic Country”.
