Run the Valley Center Hornet Hustle!

Are you ready? WE ARE!!!

Abilene Elementary, West Elementary, Wheatland Elementary and Valley Center Intermediate School are back for the annual Hornet Hustle on September 7, 2024! 

This community tradition has become a favorite for our families, friends and running enthusiasts alike! This family friendly event is hosted completely by volunteers, all from Abilene, West, Wheatland Elementary and VCIS PTOs with 100% of the proceeds to go back to all 4 schools, equally. 

The races will begin at 9 a.m. on September 7th at VCIS. Join us as we kick off with 5K Road Race, followed by a 2-mile Road Race, a 1-mile Family Fun/Walk Run and a ¼ mile or the 50-yard dash for our smaller runners. We have student registration for those 19 and under!

Register by August 26, 2024 to ensure you get a Hornet Hustle T-Shirt!

5K Road Race Run

The 5K will start and end at the Valley Center Intermediate School, loop through the City of Valley Center and is a timed event. Participants must be over the age of 12 or accompanied by an adult (18+) during the course. This is a running event only. Register before August 26, 2024 to be guaranteed a shirt!

2-Mile Road Race Run

The 2-mile will start and end at the Valley Center Intermediate School, loop through the City of Valley Center and is a timed event. Participants must be over the age of 12 or accompanied by an adult (18+) during the course. This is a running event only. Register before August 26, 2024 to be guaranteed a shirt!

2 Mile Race Course Route Map

1-Mile Run/Walk Race

This 1-mile course will be located on the VCIS school grounds. A mixed course of flat, grassy, concrete and track, this race is open to runners and walkers of all ages! Families and strollers are welcome! Register before August 26, 2024 to be guaranteed a shirt! No dogs on this course please!

1/4 mile Fun Run for Kindergarten and 1st Grade

We didn't forget about our younger runners! This event will be for kindergarten and first graders as of enrollment in Fall of 2024. The course will be held around VCIS track. Register before August 26, 2024 to be guaranteed a shirt!

Pre-K 50 yard Dash

We even have a course for our littlest ones! This event will be for Pre-K as of enrollment in Fall of 2024. This course will be held at the VCIS Football Field. Register before August 26, 2024 to be guaranteed a shirt!

No Hustle Hornet

Can't make it on the 7th? Maybe you'd prefer the t-shirt and just hang with the Food Trucks? We don't blame you and we got you covered too with our No Hustle Hornet, Just Here for the T-Shirt option. Register before August 26, 2024 to be guaranteed a shirt!
