Description
Join us Thursday August, 18, 2022 for the United Way Race the Night Away 5k hosted by The Blue Chip Casino Hotel & Spa! This event is a great competitive 5K run and a non-competitive 1 mile fitness walk benefiting children, youth and struggling families in LaPorte County. As the name implies, our event will take place in the evening with a unique route where you just might end up on the beach! This is the perfect opportunity to join us for a night out to celebrate a great cause.
On-site packet pick up starts at 4:30 PM
5k Run/Walk Starts at 6 PM
After Party & Awards to follow!
Pre-registered participants may receive an official race shirt. T-Shirts are short-sleeved and unisex-sized; available in Adult XS- Adult XXL.
Awards for the 5K will be presented to the Top overall Male and Female and the top 3 males and females in the following age groups:18 and under, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.
Awards will be distributed at the after party!

Registration is limited to the first 500 people who sign up. So register early!

Online registration opens.
August 6, 2022
Deadline for early registration. Registration after this date will be $35 per entry. No exceptions.
August 15, 2022
Deadline for online and mail-in registration (unless we reach our cap of 500 before this date).
August 18, 2022
Race day registration opens at 4:30 PM and closes at 5:40 PM, you can pick up your t-shirt and race packet at registration. Day of race registration will be $40.
After the Race – AFTER PARTY!
Refreshments and entertainment will be available to all participants after the run.

Here is the overview of the running route equipped with mile markers, water stations and bathrooms.
RACE ROUTE DIRECTIONS (5K Run)
Start/Finish at the Blue Chip Casino Hotel & Spa
Begin running through the parking lot and out to E 2nd Street, crossing here from E 2nd Street to Center Street.
Continue onto Center Street which then runs into Krueger Ave.
Continue on Krueger which then runs into Fedder Drive, you will continue on from Fedder Drive to the Beach. You will follow the beach front until you get to Washington Park Beach.
Take a left at Washington Park Beach and run down the Park Exit Rd and then make a right once you get to Lake Shore Dr.
Once you are on Lake Shore Drive you will run until you make a left on Fedders Drive, stay on Fedders drive until you run into Krueger Road and make a right.
Once on Krueger Rd you will run back onto Center Street, cross from Center Street to E 2nd Street and back to the Blue Chip Casino Hotel and Spa parking lot.

RACE ROUTE DIRECTIONS (1 Mile Walk)
Start/Finish at the Blue Chip Casino Hotel & Spa
Begin walking through the parking lot and out to E 2nd Street, crossing here from E 2nd Street to Center Street.
Continue onto Center Street which then runs into Krueger Ave.
Continue on Krueger until you get to Blaine Street, once you get here, turn around back down Krueger Ave.
Then back to Center Street, cross here from Center Street back to E 2nd Street.
Walk back into the Blue Chip parking lot and finish.
