Come learn with the 2022 Southland Conference Champions! This is a one of a kind camp that has been held in Central San Antonio since its inception in the summer of 2006. Throughout the years, past campers have included Regional, State and National qualifiers!
Our camp counselors (current UIW cross country student-athletes) are well versed in all things cross country with years of experience at the Regional, National and State level along with collegiate experience at the NCAA Division 1 level.
Receive instruction in:
- Leadership and team building with UIW Leadership Counselors
- Proper pacing, race strategy, and training methods
- Injury prevention through swim workouts & rehab training in our indoor pool & Wellness Center
- Proper warm-up and cool-down drills
- Speed drills with track assistant coach Blair Sohl
- Strength training with track assistant coach Forrest Donnell
- Nutrition and post-workout recovery
- Shoe wear with Fleet Feet
- Motivation and goal setting with former NCAA jumper Melvin Echard
- and much more!
We do our daily run at 7 a.m. each day. If commuting, drop off will be at designated dorm room entrance at 6:45 a.m. each day. After run, we eat breakfast and clean up to continue our day. We will have running-themed discussions throughout day as well as team activities, leadership training and more fun! We will end each day with a devotional and team-centered time.
Each camper will be placed on a "running team." These 4-5 person teams will be their group throughout the duration of the camp. We do this so our campers can form bonds and focus on team-building relationships and learn valuable leadership skills that will help them during their school season.
Discounts available for commuters, UIW Employees and military.
