Marcus Kayal Legacy4Life, with the support of the Mahwah Schools Foundation brings you the third annual Miles4Marcus fundraising challenge.
Marcus Kayal was a Mahwah High School student and member of the Boys Soccer family who passed away in December of 2019. Marcus had a passion for the game of soccer and always pushed himself to play at the highest level. While he exceled in sport, Marcus was a young man who also put a tremendous amount of focus towards his academics and was highly respectful to all people that he interacted with. On the field, Marcus wore #4. The name of the event, and its purpose are designed to reflect the values that Marcus brought to the community and soccer program, on and off the field.
The format of the event is as follows:
1. Each participant who registers has the option to run or walk.
2. Each participant will have one hour to complete as many laps as possible.
3. Each mile completed by each participant will be recorded by event volunteers.
4. As a collective group, we are trying to run or walk as many miles in memory of Marcus as possible.
5. Based on the number of participants, our targeted goal will be announced before the event officially begins.
All proceeds raised will go directly to Marcus Kayal Legacy4Life which honors the life and legacy of Marcus Kayal by providing preventative cardiac screenings to students at Mahwah High School, in partnership with the MCore Foundation.

Miles4Marcus T-Shirt
Registrants will receive a Miles4Marcus event t-shirt. Please register by May 1st in order to be guaranteed a t-shirt and specific size. There will be limited availability of t-shirts on the day of the event, so please be sure to register in advance. Thank you.
PARKING
Parking will be available at Continental Soldiers Park as well as at the parking lot at Immaculate Conception Church, on the corner of Rte. 202 and Darlington Ave, just a short walk to the Park.

Q. Can I register on the day of the event?
A. Yes! You may register at our t-shirt pickup dates or on the day of the event, May 20th, at Continental Soldiers Field beginning at 8:30am and ending promptly at 10:00am. Please know that the entry fee will increase to $30 after online registration closes.
Q. What are the accepted methods of payment on race day?
A. On race day, we can accept CASH or CHECK (payable to the Mahwah Schools Foundation) as well as credit cards.
Q. Where and when can I pick up my MIles4Marcus event t-shirt?
A. We will offer pickup dates, 2-3 days prior to the event. Exact details tbd.
Q. Can I have someone else pick up my T-shirt?
A. Yes. You may have someone pick up your t-shirt. Please give them all the names of registrants from your family and make sure that all waivers have been signed.
Q. Am I guaranteed a Miles4Marcus t-shirt?
A. All registrations received by May 1st will be guaranteed a tee in the selected size. After that date and on the day of the event, shirts will be available to participants while supplies last.
Q. Where can I park?
A. Parking will be available at Continental Soldiers Field and at the parking lot at Immaculate Conception Church. More details will be emailed closer to the event.
Q. Will roads be closed during the event?
A. There may be some road closures to allow for participants to walk safely from the parking lots. More details will be emailed closer to the event.
Q. Are there water stops?
A. Yes!
Q. What is your refund policy?
A. All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. You may still pick up your Miles4Marcus t-shirt (or have someone else do so) before the event, even if you cannot participate.
Q. What happens if it rains?
A. The event is rain or shine!
Q. Are there bathrooms available?
A. Yes, there are restrooms available at Continental Soldiers Park
Q. Will the laps be timed?
A. No, the the event will not be timed. The goal is to run and/or walk the most amount of miles for Marcus in one hour.
Q. Can I bring or participate with my dog?
A. No. We know many dogs are friendly, but for the comfort of all participants (and for insurance purposes), we ask that you leave your pets at home.
Q. Can I or my children participate on a bicycle, a scooter, wagon, skateboard, or rollerblades?
A. No. For the safety of all, none of the above will be permitted on the 1 mile course.
Q. Can I run with a stroller?
A. Yes, strollers are welcome.
