Description

Join us for a fun 5k followed by a brews from local Central Florida Breweries - 3 Odd Guys and Ivanhoe Brewing*.

3/24/2022 UPDATE:  While we were hopeful we could put this event on with a large beer garden with a lot of local breweries, we fell short.  As this is the first year of this event and with uncertainties relating to the pandemic, we have found that many breweries were just not able to attend this year but are committing to next year if post pandemic conditions are more favorable. This event will still be a great success with a fun 5k, live music, food trucks, all to support the Bear Sanctuary construction!

The Central Florida 5Keg will start at 5:30 pm on April 8, 2022 at the Northwest Recreation Complex in Apopka.  The race will be chip timed and awards will be presented to top three in each gender and age group.

All participants registered before 3/21/22 are guaranteed to receive a moisture wicking shirt in their selected size.   Medals double as sample cups for enjoying the tastes of many brews from our local craft breweries that will be set up in the beer garden at the finish line. Pretzel necklace provided to all registrants for snacking during beer garden sampling... hey, its a thing - we promise!

  • $50 Late Registration from March 22 through April 5 - No shirt guarantee.

Packet Pick up will be held on April 7 at  Three Odd Guys Brewing - 48 E 5th Street Apopka, FL from 6-8 pm.

Don't wanna run?  Just wanna hit the beer garden?  Hey, that's cool too! Beer Garden only entry is just $25 and includes a souvenir mug for beer sampling.  Beer garden opens at 6:00 for non-race participants.  Same day registration for Beer Garden Only is $30 and does not include the souvenir cup.

Proceeds from this race will benefit the construction of Florida's very first (and only) Bear Rehab and Sanctuary!  Currently, injured adult bears are euthanized in Florida because we do not have the established facilities to treat or care for injured adult bears.  Similarly, bears such as Seminole County's "TriPod", who has only three legs, are left to fend for themselves in the wild.  The bear sanctuary will be be a place to treat injured bears, rehabilitate them for release back to the wild and a safe place for injured bears like Tripod to live.  This will not be a tourist attraction, not a zoo or other facility where bears are on display -  It is a true rehab and sanctuary.  Bear Warriors United is partnered with Alaqua Animal Refuge to facilitate the design and construction of the facility in Freeport, Florida on land owned by Alaqua Animal Refuge.
