Official Website

Description

2021 was our inaugural Run T.O.O. Overcome Autism and, despite less-than-ideal weather, more than 70 runners participated in our charity 5k through the scenic streets of Vermillion in Huntersville.  The 2022 Run T.O.O. Overcome is brought to you by Abigail Olean and Grace Denny, students at Christ the King Catholic High School.  We organized this run last year to generate awareness for autism.  We each have loved ones living with some degree of autism, so this is something very near and dear to our hearts. The event is centered around the phrase "Together Overcoming Obstacles" to raise awareness and funding for local autism groups. This year, our goal is to double last years $3,000 donation to Autism Speaks, but we need your help to get there.  We have chosen to benefit the TEACCH Autism Program, a University of North Carolina program, which creates and disseminates community-based services, training programs, and research to enhance the quality of life for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families across the lifespan.  Please visit their website (Home | TEACCH® Autism Program) to learn more about what they provide to the autism community and how we can help them. We hope you will join us again this year, and please invite your family and friends to participate and/or donate.

Each participant will receive a commemorative t-shirt, medal, race bib, and the opportunity to help support a very important cause.  Whether you walk or run, your participation will raise awareness for a condition that takes a community to help support.

We hope to see you at our 2nd Annual Run T.O.O. Overcome Autism (Together Overcoming Obstacles!)
