About GAIT

GAIT is a Therapeutic Riding Program located in the heart of wine country in beautiful Temecula, California. Lives are changed through the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional bonds formed throughout the programs we offer. The therapeutic programs are customized for each client to support their personal goals. GAIT is able to serve all abilities and considering GAIT's home being on the successful working horse ranch Green Acres, the sky's the limit for each person's horsemanship goals and accomplishments.

About the Event 

Due to the pandemic, we made the decision to cancel our 2020 annual fundraiser, Pony Up for GAIT.  While we are hopeful that the fall of 2021 will bring great news about in-person events, we could not wait to spend some time with all of you out on the trails!  To celebrate the growth of our program and to keep therapeutic riding accessible to our community, we invite you to join us for a fun reason to get outdoors and raise awareness for Green Acres Interactive Therapy!  Whether you are saddling up or joining us on foot, we cannot wait to see your photos of you and your family spending time outdoors for this pressure-free walk or run for GAIT.

Please note that this is a SELF-COORDINATED run with no setup, chip-timing, or coordinators on-site. Your time will be self-recorded, submitted, and can be posted on our website after your run or ride.

Walk, Ride, Run for GAIT

"Walk, Ride, Run for GAIT" is an opportunity for GAIT-supporters across the country to jump into the saddle or lace up their tennis shoes and take part in a fun event that can take place any time or place during the month of May. 

Take the reins and sign up today and receive your swag bag in early May!  Swag items include One soft t-shirt with the "Walk, Ride, Run" logo, GAIT Sticker, and perhaps some extra goodies!  All participants will receive a swag bag in the mail.  Our goal is to have all swag packages shipped out and delivered to you prior to the end of the event on May 30th.

No matter how you take part, you’ll be joining hundreds of horse enthusiasts across the United States to show that together we can make a positive change in the lives of those with special needs who can benefit from Therapeutic Riding.

 

Riding Division
Saddle up and join us for a ten-mile ride.  Your rides may be spread out into multiple days and sessions, be sure to track your distance on an app such as Strava, Map my Run, Nike Run Club, or your favorite tracker to input your miles.

Non-Riding Division
Want to participate but don't have a horse?  This is the division for you!  We appreciate your support of this event.  Complete your 10k (or 6.2 Miles) any way you choose under your own personal power - run, walk, bike, swim, roll, shuffle, do the boogie, however you feel like getting it done!  Just like the riding division, this 10k can be broken down and completed at shorter distances over multiple days, just be sure to track your miles through an app and input your information.
