T-shirts are guaranteed to runners register by May 3. Sizes cannot be guaranteed thereafter.

Make 2021 your year! Whether it’s your first race or plan to be on the leaderboard, come out and enjoy this scenic, rolling 5k in the heart of Spotsylvania County. Race will start and finish at Salem Fields Community Church in Fredericksburg, VA. Race will start with a loop around the church campus and then go out and back on the nearby Ni River Landing road.

All proceeds will benefit our friends at the Thurman Brisben Center, Spotsylvania County’s only homeless shelter for men, women and families.

Walkers and strollers are welcome to attend this event. A VIRTUAL 5K and 1 Miler is available to anyone, anywhere, to participate with our race! You will receive your bib number and race t-shirt in the mail.

COVID-19 Considerations: At Salem Fields, our priority is the health and safety of our community. We are closely monitoring coronavirus (COVID-19) developments and restrictions in our county and state and will adjust our event as needed. Masks are expected during check-in, but are not expected during the actual race. We do recommend keeping them on you and make sure to maintain 6ft of social distancing whenever possible. There is the possibility of a wave start, with waves of 10-20 runners/walkers spaced two minutes apart. We will have further updates as race day gets closer, so check your email!

 

Training Programs:

Never completed a 5K before? Looking to train with some runners and walkers? No problem! Join our FREE 5K Training Group. We will have a 10 week Couch-to-5K training program available, complete with weekly devotions, as well as a weekly walk and run meetup for people of all paces! Email [email protected] to join. All group members will be invited to a private Facebook and email group.

7:30 AM - Packet pickup opens on-site

8:00 AM - Kids’ Mile (12 and under): 

8:30 AM - 5K

9:45 AM - Awards Presentation

 

Registration Fees:

5K – $25 (Early Bird until April 1), $30 (Regular until May 3), $35 (Late, May 4 until May 18), $40 (Pre-race, May 19-22)

Kids’ Mile -- $15 (until May 3), $20 (Late, May 4 thru race day)

Virtual 5K -- $25 -- measure 5K, run it or walk it, and e-mail your time to us.  We mail t-shirts to all virtual 5K entrants by May 3

T-shirts guaranteed to runners registered before May 3. We will order extra t-shirts for those who register after that date, but it is on a first-come first-served basis.

5K Race: Top 3 5K finishers, male & female; Age Group awards, top 2 male and female in each: 14 & under. 15-19. 20-29. 30-39. 40-49. 50-59. 60-69. 70-79. 80 & over

Parking:

Plenty of parking at Salem Fields Community Church (11120 Gordon Rd). Please follow directions of parking attendant.

 

5K Race: (out-and-back course)

• Start on Salem Fields Community Church property, loop around perimeter of property counter-clockwise
• Exit property to shoulder of Gordon Rd (State Route 627) for approx. 0.1 mile
• Turn right onto Ni River Landing Rd
• Turn left on Tealwing Cove Rd.
• Turnaround ¾ down Tealwing Cove Rd.
• Repeat route back to Salem Fields Community Church property, loop around
• End at Salem Fields Community Church property

 

State Route 627 (Gordon Rd) is involved for 0.1 mile, alongside shoulder, no crossings, should not disturb traffic
