The 4th Annual event Presented by Crest Exteriors has split into two parts for social distancing!

 

🍀The McKinney Shamrock Run 5K kicks off at TUPPS Brewery at 9am! Race around the McKinney Cotton Mill to the finish line where you’ll receive your finishers medal and enjoy all the local vendors and cold GREEN TUPPS beer! Then head over to downtown McKinney to continue the St. Patrick’s Day festivities!

🍀The McKinney St. Patrick’s Day Beer Walk is from 11am-6pm in Historic Downtown McKinney! Enjoy sipping and strolling through the streets of downtown McKinney tasting 20 unique craft beers! There’s something fun at the social distanced event for everyone including live Irish music throughout the day, an outdoor vendor market, St. Paddy’s dog costume contests, delicious Irish cuisine, a St Patrick’s Day photo-booth and more!

🍀Tickets for the Shamrock Run 5k are: $30 and a portion of event proceeds supports The Warrior’s Keep! Tickets for the McKinney St. Patrick’s Day Beer Walk are $30 and a portion of proceeds benefits Hugs Cafe and McKinney Main Street!

 

More about the McKinney Shamrock Run 5k:

The Chip timed 5k starts and ends in front of TUPPS Brewery! You can arrive as early as 7:45am and the 5K begins at 9am! You’ll run (or walk!) around the Historic McKinney Cotton Mill and end at the finish line where local vendors will be setup and plenty of cold beer will be waiting. There will also be a St. Pat’s photobooth, delicious food and music! The $30 fee includes the chip timed run, a Shamrock Run event t-shirt, a custom McKinney Shamrock Run 5K bib, and an awesome finishers medal that you’ll be proud to show off!

CASH prizes will be awarded to the Top Overall Males and Females: First Place ($100), Second Place ($50) and Third Place ($25) AND the First Place Stroller Strider ($25). Run On McKinney is awarding a FREE pair of running shoes to the overall First Place Male and Female! PLUS awards for the top male and female finisher in the following age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & over!

For social distancing, participants will start in waves. You will be assigned a wave number via email event week. (Waves will happen every 2-4 minutes to allow for social distancing on the route and at the start line!) FREE Parking is available. Masks should be worn at the start line but may be removed once you have started your run/walk.

Packet pickup will be available on Tuesday, March 9 from 4pm-7pm at Craig Ranch Fitness and Spa, Wednesday, March 10 and Thursday, March 11 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Academy Outdoor Sports McKinney, 1720 W University Drive, McKinney, TX 75069. If you or a friend is unable to pick up your packet it will need to be mailed to you for a $5 fee. Day of packet pickup will not be available this year due to social distancing efforts.

More about the McKinney St. Patrick’s Day Beer Walk:

Upon arrival you’ll receive your signature St. Patrick’s Day Beer taster and a map that will direct you on your tasting journey! You’ll have the opportunity to taste 20 unique beers along your stroll! Beer stations are setup inside the local shops in downtown McKinney! When you’re not sipping and strolling visit the outdoor vendor market, take your photo at the complimentary St. Pat’s photo-booth, enter your pup in the St. Paddy’s Pup costume contest or relax in the park and listen to live Irish Bands while enjoying delicious Irish cuisine!

Irish cuisine is available for pre-order! There are two delicious orders for you to choose from: Irish Corned Beef and Cabbage Sandwich or the Irish Cheese & Onion Sandwich. Food Box pick-up is from 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM at The Celt booth located at the outdoor vendor market located at Dr. Glenn Mitchell Memorial Park.

REFUND POLICY:

Once paid, ticket sales for the McKinney St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Run and St. Patrick's Day Craft Beer Walk are non-refundable if participant is a no show or would like to cancel attending the aforementioned events.

For McKinney St. Patrick's Day Craft Beer Walk:

If, and only if, the event is canceled due to COVID-19, then a request for a refund will be permitted or you can have your ticket transferred to the new postponed date for the McKinney St. Patrick's Day Craft Beer Walk.

For McKinney St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Run:

In the event it is determined that COVID-19 prohibits the in-person race from occurring the Shamrock 5k will be a virtual run. All participants will be mailed their t-shirts, bibs and medals and the warmup will happen on Facebook Live.
