REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR THIS EVENT! THERE IS NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION!

Check-in for all events begins at 7:00 am. Please arrive at least 20-30 minutes before your race starts to be sure you are checked in and ready to race 10 minutes before your race start time. 
Start times are as follows:
50k - 8:00 am
30k - 9:00 am
15k - 9:30 am
5k - 10:00 am

Our Mission

Storm Sporting Events aims to promote health and wellness while raising awareness for youth mental health through inclusive events for all ages. Our goal is to raise funds for programs and scholarships dedicated to providing essential services in youth mental healthcare. We encourage people of all skill levels to participate in trail racing events, to get outdoors, and to enjoy the beautiful local trails in Southeast MN. Your donations and a percentage of the profits from this event will go to the Youth Mental Health programs.

Course Summary

Come to Southeast Minnesota to "Storm the Park" and enjoy all that the trails at Whitewater State Park have to offer!! This is the first of the four race series, The Storm Trail Race Series. There will be a 15k course that follows and crosses the Whitewater River and offers beautiful views of the river, meadows, and surrounding bluffs. Multiple loops of this amazing course will make up the 30k. The 50k race will follow the same course with an additional 1.6k added to the 15k that will take participants all the way out to Coyote Point. This 16.6k loop will be completed 3 times for the 50k distance. The 5k course will climb you up to Chimney Rock and Inspiration Point and then back down to the Whitewater River.

Note - It will NOT be free park day on race day this year. All vehicles will need a state park pass while inside Whitewater State Park. We recommend you purchase an annual pass which will get you into 65 Minnesota State Parks all over the state. You can purchase an annual pass online at https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/permit.html You can also purchase a daily pass at a discounted rate of $5 at the Visitor's Center on race day.

Aid Stations

For the 15k and 30k there will be one Aid Station at miles 3.5, 4.5 and 8.5, which is the same AS visited multiple times, and then at the Start/Finish line. We will have orange Tailwind and all the typical Aid Station food available. For the 50k there will be the Aid Station at miles 3.5, 4.5 and 9.2, which are the same AS visited multiple times and then at the Start/Finish line. 

Race Shirts

Technical Craft shirts can be purchased during registration for $15. Shirt order deadline is Saturday, March 16th, 2024. Shirts are sold in Men's and Women's sizes. The Women's sizes tend to run a tad smaller in the torso whereas the Men's sizes are a bit wider in the torso. You will not be able to exchange sizes on race day so please be sure to double-check the size you are ordering. If you have participated in Storm the Park in the past, the shirts will be the same type of shirt that we had in 2023.
