Two sessions per week, 14 total sessions. Zoom sessions (one hour) with video provided of drills similar to those in the session.The material covered includes several ways to pass, dribble, shoot and rebound the ball. There will also be drills on fitness, defense, and offense. Each of these skills include several sub skills (e.g. free throws, 3pt shots, boxing out, double dribbling, traveling, chest passing, and many more) which will be added as the season progresses. We will also cover the rules of basketball, work on strategies, and some positioning (pressing, player to player marking, zone, etc). Lessons will also cover important concepts like team-play, cooperation, effort, improvement, and good sportsmanship. During the zoom sessions, children will also get mini challenges and drills and will have the opportunity to seek feedback and coaching from the instructor. An example could be how many free-throws a student can make in a timed session or some form of precision shooting for points.
