Saturday, May 16th, "STEPS 7th Annual DUCK DAY" will host its second 5k and 1-mile Fun Run/Walk at Ben Geren park in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The 5k race will be chipped and timed by JAYMAX Race Timing Service, and begins at 8:00am.  The 5k registration fee of $25 includes an event t-shirt and goodie-bag (must register by May 4th to guarantee a t-shirt).  The 1-mile fun run is $10 and children under 12 can participate for free! All children under 12 will receive a medal for completing the race, while supplies last. Proceeds from the event will support a variety of programs at STEPS Family Resource Center, a 501c3 nonprofit organization that serves children and families in the child welfare and foster care systems. STEPS is dedicated to building stronger families in our community by offering a variety of family-strengthening services. We provide supervised visitation services to non-custodial parents and offer visitation rooms to families that are involved in the child welfare system (Department of Child and Family Services). STEPS also serves as a liaison between the individual/family and the community by referring clients to resources, agencies and organizations. We also offer court-approved parenting and anger management classes. STEPS is passionate about ALL Families - biological, foster and adopted - from a state of broken to thriving! Our center serves approximately 300 individuals per month. Please let us know how STEPS can serve your family! The mission of STEPS Family Resource Center is to promote healthy lifestyles and strengthen families in our community by offering Safety, Training, Education and Prevention that provide Solutions.
