Description
The teams from The DC Running Club and Runway For A Cure DC are proud to bring the signature Pink & White Runway 5K to WASHINGTON D.C. ! Breast Cancer walking and running events have become a popular fundraiser in many cities throughout the world to raise needed research funds to treat and find a cure for this terrible disease. So, we decided to join forces in Our Nations Capital to raise awareness and funds through an amazing and fun walk / run.
So what makes the Pink & White Runway 5K unique? First and foremost, ALL participants will have the opportunity to participate in a training walk / run in August and/or September in Georgetown to be prepared for the Formal Event on October 17th at Anacostia Park along the Anacostia Riverwalk.
You will get a “Pink & White 5K In Training” Technical T-Shirt to wear once you register for the training run(s). This can be a bit of motivation for you to get your 5K finish time twice before the October race.
During the registration process for the race in October, sign up to win BEST Pink and/or White Running Gear as A Survivor, Supporting Friend, Family, Team or Single Participant. Our Pink Carpet Paparazzi will be snapping pictures and spectators will celebrate you as you walk the runway!!
Additionally, all finishers will receive a custom Pink & White Medal and Long Sleeve Technical Pink & White T-Shirt. The event is open to both runners and walkers; adults and children. No matter how fast or slow you finish, you are guaranteed a T-Shirt and a Medal when you cross the Finish Line!
After the events join us for a Pink & White Brunch at a restaurant in Navy Yard TBD.
