ABOUT THE RACE

Don’t miss this flat and fast 10K Peachtree Road Race qualifier!

The Metro Area Running Club (MARC) is host to the Smyrna Village 10K Road Race. It is a fun and exciting race promoting health and wellness in the beautiful community of Smyrna

People of all ages and paces are welcome!

The race starts and finishes at the Smyrna Community Center. The Center will be open so participants can gather for coffee and have access to indoor bathrooms.

RACE COURSE
The course is an out and back on Atlanta Rd. It turns south from Smyrna Village onto Atlanta Rd. and reverses course near the intersection of Atlanta Rd. and the East West Connector.

The course will be open 1 hour 40 minutes. Participants on the course after 9:25 am will be directed to the sidewalk to finish their race. Finish line will stay open until 9:30 am.

Strollers are allowed, but single file only and to the right. Strollers will start at the back of the race start.

PARKING
Race parking will be available in a variety of locations in downtown Smyrna starting at 6:30 am.

Volunteers will be directing traffic into parking lot behind the Smyrna Community Center. This parking lot can be accessed via Powder Springs St. SE.

Parking is also available at:
• First Methodist Church at the corner of King and Concord Rd
• First Baptist Church of Smyrna off of King Street
• Smyrna Public Library rear parking lot off Bank Street
• Smyrna Government Building rear parking lot off King Street

AWARDS/DRAWINGS
Awards will begin at 9:00 am and made in the following categories:
• Top 3 Overall Male/ Female
• Masters Male/Female
• Top 3 Male and Female in each specified age groups

Drawings for great door prizes will be given as well.

PRE RACE BIB/PACKET PICK UP

We will have bib/package pickup at two locations:

Thursday, November 12, from 3pm to 7pm   Location to be determined!

Friday, November 13, from 4pm to 7pm    Location to be determined!

RACE DAY BIB/PACKET PICKUP
Start: 6:30 am
Finish: 7:30am

Race Day Registration is also available for $50.00 and will take place from 6:30 am to 7:30 am. Check or cash preferred.

FINISHER SHIRTS

All participants registered online by Sunday, November 5 are guaranteed a finisher t-shirt. A limited number of t-shirts will be available for late and race day registrants. 

AID STATIONS
There will be two aid stations on the 10k course. There will be one aid station at approximately 1.5 miles down the course and at the turn around.

Food and water will also be provided at the finish line.

TIMING
The race will be chip timed with a gun time start by Elite Race Timing. Results will be posted during the race and online immediately after.

WEATHER
Event will happen rain or shine.

In the event of extreme weather, such as lightning or other hazardous conditions, the race start may be delayed or cancelled to ensure runner safety. Please check our Smyrna Village 10K Facebook page the morning of the race.

REFUNDS
There are no refunds or transfers.

VOLUNTEERS
Interested in getting involved? We need great volunteers and appreciate your help!. We will actively pursue volunteers October 1, 2020

AFFECTED NEIGHBORHOODS
Two southbound lanes of Atlanta Rd. from Smyrna Village to the East West Connector will be closed from 7:30 am to 9:40 am. We will have police officers directing traffic during that time to assist in getting in and out of adjacent neighborhoods.

TRAINING PROGRAM

Start Date: September 14 (8 weeks) Participants receive:

•SV 10k registration, race shirt and medal
•10k training plan
•Weekly group runs on Monday (Campbell Middle School Smyrna), Tuesday (Smyrna), Thursday (Marietta) and Saturday (Various)
•MARC Membership through 12/31/19
•MARC short sleeve technical shirt
•Weekly training e-mail and tips
•Access to RRCA-certified running coach
•Information sessions
