May The Forest Be With You 5k & Fun Run

Joplin Parks and Recreation, along with Liberty Utilities, proudly presents the May the Forest Be With You 5k & Fun Run. 

Enjoy a morning run through Wildcat and McIndoe Parks, and participate in a free family fun-run through Wildcat Park. Afterwards, stick around for the Annual Arbor Day Celebration. The event includes live music, food trucks, games, educational booths and demonstrations, and a plant sale. 

5k Information

• Registrations received by September 18, 2020, will guarantee a t-shirt.

  • Saturday, October 3
    • Location
      • Wildcat Park near the start/finish line
    • Time
      • 8am - 8:30am
• Race Check-In
  • Race check-in and starting point will be the lower section of Wildcat Park, next to Shoal Creek. 
• 5k Runners will receive: 
  • Official men's women's cut race shirt
  • Finisher Medal
  • 3-gallon tree, courtesy of Liberty Utilities
  • Timed Results
• 5k Awards:
  • 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place medals to male and female finishers in the following age categories: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+ 
• T-shirts:
  • T-shirts are guaranteed for every registration prior to September 18th. After September 18th, shirts will be given on a first come, first serve basis.

Padawan Fun Run Information

• Open to everyone!
• Run or walk the looped trail that runs through Wildcat Park
• First 100 registered kids will receive a participation medal
• Children must be accompanied by an adult
