Description

This course was originally the "Sun Run 5k" course that was a very popular course during the 1970s and 1980s.  With the Greater Binghamton area having such a rich running community history, what better course to bring back to life?! With new name "The Retro Run 5k" there is plenty of opportunity to design an ultra-groovy, super-retro running outfit, use your imagination and bring some color to this fun-filled event! 

We will have Male & Female Age Group prizes (1st, 2nd, 3rd places for 10 year age groups) along with prizes for Male & Female Open and Male & Female Masters for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

The Retro Run 5k will be the third race in the 2022 Empire Road Race Series schedule. 

The race will begin and finish at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena located a 1 Stuart Avenue, Binghamton, NY.  It is a flat, fast 5k that was the same course as the historical Sun Run 5k.  This race will be chipped timed. This course is a USATF Certified 5k Course (Certification Code: NY20009DNB).

Pre- and Post-race activities will be hosted inside the Arena.  Food and beverages will be provided to all registered participants.  Prizes and awards will follow the race.
