Join the Cassadaga community as we celebrate the life of Emmaline Wilcox in conjunction with this year’s Arbor Day Celebration.  Sadly, in February, 7 year old  Emmaline lost her life in a tragic car accident on NYS Route 60.

Saturday, October 3, 2020.

9am - Meet at the Cassadaga Beach and participate in Emmaline’s Gift charity run/walk.  Emmaline loved to help people; in honor of that loving spirit we are establishing a fund in her name that will do just that when tragedy strikes others in our community.

Run or walk a 2.5 mile course, along the beautiful shore of the Lower Cassadaga Lake, enter the Lily Dale Assembly grounds, circle the Leolyn Woods Nature Trail and back on the same route along the lake to finish at the Beach.

Snacks provided afterwards.

10am - Join us for a brief ceremony commemorating Cassadaga’s designation as a Tree City USA with a small ceremony and a tree planting in memory of Emmaline.

11am - Travel over to the new Cassadaga Lakes Nature Park for a group hike through the woods and learn about the many different trees species within the Park.

Proceeds from the run/walk will purchase a commemorative plaque to be placed at the foot of the newly planted tree in memory of Emmaline with remaining funds to be placed in an account held by the Citizens for a Better Cassadaga (CBC).

Cost to participate in the run will be $10 for adults and $1 for any elementary school student or younger.  Registration and donations can be made on-line at the link above only.  There can be no event day registration due to Covid protocols that will be in place.

Parking will be available at the Cassadaga Fire Hall as well as Park Church on Maple Avenue.
