The Trial of Miles is an elimination race where runners face off against each other, and the clock. The race takes place on a one mile course. On the first loop runners must complete the course in under nine minutes. Runners who miss the mark are eliminated. A few minutes later the remaining runners start again, only this time the cutoff time has dropped to 8 minutes. This continues with the cutoff time slowly getting faster and faster: 9:00, 8:00, 7:00, 6:00, 5:30, 5:00, 4:30. Miss the cutoff and you're out. The last person standing wins.
Location: Fort Greene Park. The start/finish line will be located near the Fort Greene Park Visitors Center.
Number Pick-Up: Numbers can be picked up at the start line between 6:00pm - 6:30pm.
Course: The race will be run on a 1/2 loop in Fort Greene Park. The entire loop is paved. It is slightly downhill at the start and slightly uphill at the finish.
Prizes: There is $100 prize for the last man and the last woman standing.
Spectators: This race is designed to be a spectator friendly event. Friends, family, and dogs are all encouraged to attend.
