Event Beneficiaries: The 2020 Sactown Urban Dash is fundraising for our two main beneficiaries, Single Mom Strong and The Boys in the Hood Book Club. Single Mom Strong is a community, a place of empowerment and a means for betterment for single mothers and their children in the Sacramento area. The Boys in the hood Book Club is a literacy program for African American boys from the ages of 8 to 12 years old that are interested in reading and writing. The programs goal is to bridge the gap in language arts, decrease suspension rates and disrupt the school to prison pipeline. Additionally, the Sactown Urban Dash Event is fundraising for Active 20-30 Club #1032's annual high school scholarship program, which awards ~ $5,000 each year to young women entering college.
