Description

Enjoy a lovely Sunday morning run at Dorchester Lake!  This race has some inclines, but nothing outrageous.  Our 8-mile race is basically part-road, part-trail. You'll start on the paved reservoir path that's being used for the I Run For... 5K.  As you approach the end of the paved path at Keibel Road (the 5K runners will turn around here), you'll keep on going and turn right to head onto the seasonal access road.  This section of road on the west side of Whitney Point Reservoir is open to cars, but traffic is slow and very minimal because the road is only used by people who are fishing.  The running surface is uneven and rocky so please exercise caution at all times.  This portion of the course is akin to a trail race, and isn't for the faint of heart!  Are you up for the challenge?  See a map of the course.  Runners must be 18 years of age or older.

In keeping with our mission, net proceeds from our race will benefit A Room to Heal and The James cancer center at The Ohio State University.

TEAM SPIRIT CHALLENGE
We know you have spirit, so get your workmates, family and/or friends together and come represent at the 2020 I Run For… races. You can show your colors in our Team Spirit Challenge. Instead of recognizing the team with the fastest race times, we want to offer a prize true to the spirit of “all faces, all paces.” The team that brings the most runners to our event (5K or 8-miler) will get a cool trophy and bragging rights. On top of that, we’ll give a portion of our net proceeds to the cancer-related charity of the winning team’s choice. When you register for the race, make sure to enter your group’s name, so you’ll be counted in the Team Spirit Challenge. Discounted entries are available for groups of more than 10 runners.
