We are not sure at this point what will or will not be allowed by City and State mandates. As soon as we know we will post it on this site and send an email to anyone in our database from the last three years of online pre-reg.

Last year- we celebrated our 30th anniversary! 
It was a great day and our numbers were close to 300. This helped MADD to fund its educational programs and support all victims and their families. 

 

At our awards ceremony we saluted our TWO LEGENDS-

 93 years young participants: Betty Holroyd and Herman Bershtein. They are amazing and are invited back!

NOW GOING ON ITS 31st YEAR- MADD-CT has hosted one of the top events in Fairfield County. We look forward to having you join us and help the programs and victims that MADD supports.

There are many options and great family friendly pricing for you to enjoy. Our flat and scenic courses are easy to maneuver and great for all ability levels. Last year our participants in the 5k distance ranged in age from 8 to 93.

We start and finish at the very scenic Short Beach in Stratford. When you are done it's just a 25 yard walk to the water! So take a cooling dip after your exciting run. There will be a variety of food and fluids to enjoy with your friends, family and new acquaintances. After the awards ceremony we will have an exciting gift give away so stick around for the prizes.

We offer great commemorative shirts to pre registered by July 19 to guarantee sizing. After that date your sizing MAY NOT be available, There may be shirts at late reg on the day of the event- but don't take that chance- Please pre register! (It helps us to order shirts & many items if you are in our database early).

The 5k distance- whether you run or walk- will be computer timed. The 2 mile Lighthouse Stroll and the Kids Scampers are untimed and non competitive. 

There are awards, trophies or prizes for the 5k male & female champions. The top three in each age group will also earn awards: 9 & under, 10-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ and beyond if they are pre registered  

There is plenty of parking at Short Beach- But park rules- NO DOGS/PETS ALLOWED. We are sorry- you cannot run with a dog in our event. Our FLAT courses are, however, very baby stroller friendly- if you are so inclined!

Sunday July 19- Guaranteed T-shirt sizing ends. Sorry but we then need to buy them, ship them, print them, and have them ready for you. Please pre reg in time otherwise you’ll be choosing what’s left- and we could even run out before you get there. 

Friday 7/31
2-6 pm- pre reg pickup and late registration at Crunch Fitness 1100 Barnum Ave.

Saturday 8/1
Event day- arrive early, avoid the rush, relax and warmup!
7:45am pickup and late reg on site- Short Beach
8:30am free non competitive Kids Scamper
8:50am non competitive 2mi Lighthouse Stroll starts
9:00am 5K timed run & walk -all 5K folks are timed. 
9:20am Snacks & Fluids
10:00am Awards and give-aways

Event Fees Schedule - for the TIMED 5K run or walk and the UNTIMED Lighthouse Stroll:
1/9-5/31 Early bird pre reg $25 for 19 & older/$18 for 18 & under
6/1- 7/29 (closes 8pm) pre reg fee $27/$18
7/30 NO REGISTRATION AVAILABLE  

7/31at early pickup and 8/1 on event day reg fees are $30 for 19 & older, $20 for 18 & under 
The Kids Scamper is FREE for 5th grade & under

Michelle Lettieri has been with MADD since 1993 and has been a staunch advocate for victims and their families.

Marty Schaivone has directed the MADD Dash since 1993 under the guidance of Michelle Lettieri of MADD. He also works with 50 other events including the Great Pumpkin Run in Trumbull, the Bigelow Tea 5K, the Vicki Soto Run and Turkey Trot in Stratford, the Colony Grill Hot Oil 5K, and many others.
