“Howdy Folks! Welcome to Golden, where the west RUNS!”

On Sunday, September 20, 2020 Golden’s biggest annual race will take place for the 15th year running! Starting again beneath the City’s famous ‘Welcome’ arch, right in the center of historic downtown Golden, and finishing in Parfet Park beside gushing Clear Creek, the Golden Gallop will lead its runners on 5k and 10k loops.

We are offering $150 first place; $100 second place; $50 for third place. These amounts will be for both the male and female at each level for both the 10K and the 5K (total of 12 cash awards).  In addition, anyone who sets a new course record will receive a $100 bonus.

The Golden Gallop is the annual fundraiser for the Golden Schools Foundation (GSF) which provides educational funding for our seven Golden neighborhood articulation schools. GSF is a 501(c)(3) formed to help encourage a high level of performance and accountability at the Golden neighborhood articulation schools. In 2019, the Golden Gallop made it possible to provide nearly $40,000 back to our schools.

The 2020 Golden Gallop is sure to be a one-of-a-kind race in a one-of-a-kind town. Be there, running where the west runs!
