As a result of Covid-19, we have decided to hold the  KC 5K as a Virtual Race!   You are probably wondering what that means.....  

We are inviting all registrants to still run, walk, skip, hop, or couch surf on Saturday, March 28 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm (EDT).   You can run/walk outside or on a treadmill. Once you complete the 5K send us your time! Now, we are expecting complete honesty on the time. Top three runners/walkers in all age categories will win a hand-carved medallion from Wamunyu and the top male/female overall will win some gift cards.

There will also be prizes for best pictures sent in. ... we will be posting pics throughout the day of our virtual participants! Just a couch surfer..... we want to see a pic too!

All registered participants for 2020 will also receive a $10.00 discount if you register for 2021 . 100% of funds raised from our virtual race supports Kenya Connect's work to strengthen education at 58 schools in rural Kenya.

We will still be holding packet pick-ups with the KC5K race t-shirt and some swag from our sponsors. Packet pick-ups will be held:

Wednesday, March 25  from 9:00-11:00 at St. John's Episcopal Church in the parking lot next to the playground (in front of the church) 9120 Frederick Rd, Ellicott City, MD

Thursday, March 26  from 4:00-6:00 at St. John's Episcopal Church in the parking lot next to the playground (in front of the church) 9120 Frederick Rd, Ellicott City, MD

Friday, March 27  from 4:00-6:00 at Feet First, 5305 Village Center Dr. #110, Columbia, MD 

(If you leave beyond 40 miles from any of these locations we will send you a shirt)

We are still accepting race registrants so if you know anyone who is interested in this fun virtual race that supports a dynamic program in Kenya, let your friends know!  They just need to sign up by March 17 to ensure a shirt! It's a fun way to get out of the house for some fresh air during this difficult time.

We have unique prizes!  The top three male/female runners will win hand carved medallions from Kenya, gift cards and the top runner will also receive a Kenyan Carving. Top three male/female runners in all age categories will win hand carved medallions from Wamunyu.  The fastest team (top five runners on a team) will win a prize  Top Individual Fundraiser and Top Team Fundraiser will win prizes and anyone raising $500 or more will win a Kenyan basket or carving. All runners registered by March 16 are guaranteed a short sleeved tech shirt and goodie bag.  Race costs increase on March 16.
