Description

Run or walk a family friendly flat, fast 5K (3.1 miles) through the beautiful, tree lined streets of Harding Woods in La Grange Park. Easy to spectate, USATF certified course (updated 2017). Chip timed so your official time starts and stops when YOU cross the Start/Finish line! 

It's back - Kids' Fun Run! Kids ages 10 and under can register for an untimed (~ 0.5 mile) race that runs out and back from the Start/Finish line at 8:00 am before the 5K start. Registrants receive a 5K tech shirt. Kids who want to run the 5K need to only register for the 5K so they receive an official time. They are welcome to run the Fun Run too or instead (same entry fee). No awards except bragging rights.

Got a little one who wants to run? Line up by age group (ages 6 and under) at the Start/Finish line by 8:15 am for our free Junior Falcon Dash. No shirts, bibs, chips, times or awards. Want a shirt? Register your little ones up for the Fun Run to receive a shirt; they don't have to run it.

For the safety of all participants, strollers are welcome to lineup behind the runners. No other wheels (bicycles, in line skates, skateboards, etc.) allowed except for wheelchairs. No dogs allowed. Service animals welcome. Race held rain or shine. 

Registration Details

Register by midnight, Sunday, 10/17/21 to guarantee a 5K tech shirt for race day. Shirts for 2021 are sold out! If you registered by 10/17/21, you will receive a shirt.

Online registration ends Wednesday 11/3/21 AT 11:59 PM. Register after that in person at packet pick-up  (Fri. 11/1, 2-7 pm) or race day at SFX (7:00-8:00 am - note your race start time). Cash, check (to St. Francis Xavier), or credit card accepted. No need to register for the Junior Falcon Dash (no shirt, no bib, no time), meet at the start by 8:15 am to find your age group! 

Please allow 24 hours after registration for packet pick-up.

Packet Pick-Up

Packet pick-up will be at St. Francis Xavier School on Friday 11/5/21 from 2-7 pm at God's Garage, accessible through the Waiola entrance of the school parking lot. Go green and bring your own bag to take home your gear. Please try to pick up your packet on Friday so you can wear your shirt to the race and sleep later on Saturday! Race day picket up on Saturday from 7:00 am - 8:00 am, parking lot St. Francis Xavier School, 145 N. Waiola Ave. (LA GRANGE) south of Ogden Avenue. Please note your race start time (Kids' Fun Run 8:00 am, 5K 8:30 am).

Race Day

Race day packet pick-up and registration from 7:00 am-8:00 am at St. Francis Xavier School parking lot, 145 N. Waiola Ave. (LA GRANGE) south of Ogden Ave.; race starts north of Ogden Ave. in La Grange Park (approximately 0.2 miles away from Start line). Parking available on neighborhood streets on both sides of Ogden Ave.; no parking on course or in the school lot. THERE WILL BE NO GEAR CHECK THIS YEAR. WE CANNOT STORE YOUR GEAR OR GUARANTEE IT WILL STAY DRY OUTSIDE. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Indoor restrooms will be available at the school if needed. IN ACCORDANCE WITH ILLINOIS LAW, YOU NEED TO MASK UP TO ENTER THE BUILDING.

Race Results

Results for the 5K will be posted within 24 hours of the event at Chicago Athlete, and on this website. Listen for the Falcon 5K Wednesday the week before and after the race: https://chicagoathletepodcast.libsyn.com/website
