UPDATE:

We have been working closely with the Mayor's Office of Special Events to present the best Bayou City Classic.  Regrettably, the Mayor's Office of Special Events is cancelling large events in Houston, including the Bayou City Classic that has been scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2020.  We respect the City of Houston's decision and want our running community to remain healthy.

 

For those of you who have picked up your bibs, hold onto them. 

 

We are working with the Mayor's Office of Special Events to try to reschedule the race if a date is available.  Unfortunately, as indicated in the race waiver, we cannot offer refunds--many of the costs are fixed, are pre-paid, and will be used to support our Parks and future races.*  We will keep the Race Community updated.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of the Bayou City Classic.

*In the event that the race is not rescheduled, registered participants will receive a discount code for next year's race.

 

The 43nd running of the Bayou City Classic 10K, Texas' oldest 10K race, will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 8AM (Hand-Cycle/Pushrim start is 7:50AM). The 5K Fun Run/Walk will start at 8:20AM.

 

100% of the proceeds are donated to the Houston Parks & Recreation Department to improve our city parks and preserve our trees. This family friendly, non-profit event is organized by the Houston Area Road Runners Association (HARRA), an all volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to promote running as a competitive sport and a healthful exercise.   The race has donated over $250,000 for the Parks over the previous six years!

NOTE: DUE TO CONSTRUCTION ON BAGBY, THE RACE WILL BE STAGED FROM SAM HOUSTON PARK (1000 Bagby St. ) THIS YEAR INSTEAD OF CITY HALL.

Both the 10K and the 5K will be chipped-timed. All finishers will receive a high quality technical race shirt with the distinctive *NEW* Bayou City Classic logo.

• Summer Special (before 11/1/19) $25 (no other discounts apply)


• Early (11/1/19 to 1/5/20): $30


• Regular (1/6/20 to 2/27/20): $40


• Late & Packet Pick Up (2/28/20 and after): $45


• Race Morning: $50. Must be registered by 7:30 AM to be eligible for awards.
