Registration: $5.00 thru July 22th,
$5.00 thru August 1st,
$5.00 August 5th & 9th,
$10.00 Race Day

Course: Both the 5k and the 2k mile Run/ Walk will start and finish near Walker Place Park next to CenturyLink Center on Arthur Ray League Parkway. 

The number of the bill, 40, was chosen as a symbol of the forty acres and a mule that the United States initially promised freed slaves.

Percentage of proceeds from this walk benefits Shreveport outdoor museum display of Slavery Middle Passage.

REGISTER EARLY! No pendant guaranteed to late registrants! No refunds!

Packet Pick-Up: Every pre-registered participant will receive an original Walkathon For Slavery Awareness and Action Walk and Run Black Heart pendant. Packet pick up will be held at Crystal Stairs
Thursday, August 8th from 12 pm - 7 pm 
Friday, August 9th from 10 am - 5:30 pm.
You may also pick up your packet on Race Day at the race site beginning at 7:30 am.

Awards: Overall male and female & Overall Runner Up male & female finishers in the 5k race will receive an award. 1st & 2nd place in each of the following age groups will also receive an award.
Age Groups: 12-under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ 

Post Party: Stick around after the H.R. 40 Walkathon for our action plans to support H.R. 40 into law as the primary demands, our actions plans for outdoor museum project to memorialize our ancestors, refreshments, food, ceremonies of protest chants and songs, educational keynote speakers ect...(weather permitting)

Special Note: Walk/Run in Honor of your King and Queen Afrikan ancestors. Come dressed in white attire. Decorate your strollers, etc. Strollers, wagons, baby joggers, and any hand pushed or pulled vehicle will be allowed on the course, but at a walk pace capacity only. Absolutely NO in-line skates, roller skates or runners with baby strollers will be allowed on run course. This rule is an RRCA regulation!
