35th Annual YMCA Run Thru the Woods

Join us for the 35th annual YMCA Run/Walk for a CAUSE!

A local Thanksgiving morning tradition, YMCA Run Thru the Woods has supported local non-profits with the goal of strengthening The Woodlands, Spring and Oak Ridge communities for 35 years. The event brings thousands of community members together for entertainment and run/walks designed for all ages. Over the years, more than $3.5 million dollars has been raised.

Turkey Costumes, Themed Outfits and other Costumes are highly encouraged but not required! 

Tell your friends and family! Whether you’re a veteran runner or participating in your first race, we have an event for you, including a 3-mile run, 5-mile run, 3-mile walk, and 1-Mile Kids Race. Strollers are Welcomed. For Safety Reasons, No Pets Allowed. Service Dogs Welcomed.

*If your child is under the age of 3 and will be in a stroller, you do not need to register them as a participant, unless you want them to receive a shirt and medal. 

Races:

Multiple race options are available so everyone in your family can participate. Everyone who registers will receive a finisher medal.

1 Mile Children’s Race: Start Time is 7:30am *Parents must register if you are running with your child.
• Ages 3 - 12 years
• Participant medal

• Awards for the overall top four finishers
• Awards for the top four finishers of each age group

Our Y:

The Woodlands Family YMCA Annual Campaign – The YMCA Annual Campaign helps everyone, regardless of age, income or background, have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive at the Y. Programs include life-saving swim lessons, after school care, support services/outreach programs, summer day camp and youth sports.

Age Group Awards:

1 Mile Children’s Race: Age Groups: 3-5; 6-8; 9-10; 11-12
3 Mile Run: Master’s division for ages 40 and older. Awards for the top 3 finishers, male and female (No duplication of awards)
5 Mile Race:  Awards for the top three finishers of each age group, male and female, Master's division

Overall Winners are determined by Gun Time.
Age Group Winners are determined by Chip Time.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:

All events proceed rain, shine or cold.  For that reason, we have a strict no-refund policy.  If you are unable to participate in the event, you can still receive your packet, shirt and you simply run the race on your own time on your own course.
