PLEASE NOTE  The race was originally scheduled for November 27, 2021 at Audubon Park in New Orleans.  Audubon is not hosting any events due to Covid so we have moved the race to the following day, Sunday, November 28, 2021 at beautiful Lafreniere Park in Metairie.  

Join us for a fun filled morning at our fourth annual NOLA Dogs Race to the Rescue 5K and auction at beautiful Lafreniere Park in Metairie, LA.  All money raised is donated to no kill, nonprofit animal rescue organizations in the New Orleans area.  In 2021, money raised will be donated to Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO), Looziana Basset Rescue, Take Paws, Trampled Rose Rescue and Zeus' Rescues.  

ANIMAL RESCUE

The main goal of these rescue organizations is to get the animals healthy and into responsible and loving forever homes.  Most animals need a complete veterinary check up, heartworm treatment and to be spayed or neutered.  This is expensive and these rescues exist on donations.  We exist to raise money for them so that they can focus on their main goal.  Some of our rescue organizations have rescued over 800 animals (per organization) in 2020 and collectively they incur hundreds of thousands of dollars in vet bills.  

In spite of Covid 19 during 2020, we raised $24,000 in just our third year.  The money was donated to 5 rescue organizations.  Our goal for 2021 is to raise $50,000.  Please join our team and help us achieve that goal!

 You can register and join one of the Rescue organization teams.  They receive points assigned for each runner that runs on their team.  This turns into dollars for their organization.   If you know of a deserving organization, please let us know and we will consider them as a beneficiary for a future race. Our goal is to expand our reach to donate to all responsible no kill, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) rescue organizations in South Louisiana.

This is a race for 2 legged (human) creatures only.  Dogs are allowed at the race with a chaperone but NO DOGS will be allowed to participate in the race due to insurance restrictions and safety for the animals and the other runners.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

All 2 legged participants will enjoy gumbo and refreshments, music and more!  Each participants receives a tee shirt and the cutest finisher medal ever!  After the race, mingle with other supporters while you peruse the available auction items and get some last minute bidding in before the auction ends.  

All profits will benefit animal rescue in South Louisiana.
