Marian Catholic Summer Games 10K / 5K / 3K Walk / 1M Youth Race

Race Format: To comply with CDC guidelines and an anticipated restriction on group size, the race  will be held with a modified start / time trail format.  Start can take place anytime from 7a.m. till 9a.m. for the 5K, 10K, and 3K walk.  The finish line will remain open till 10:00 a.m.  The Youth 1 Mile race will take individual starts anytime from 9:00 am till 9:30 am.   All races will be scored off of chip time measured from your individual start time to your finish time.  

To reduce any crowd size, and to comply with all CDC guidelines on social distancing, we will be offering several pre-race packet pickup options.

Skipper Dippers Dairy Bar and Grill- Thursday, July 23rd, 4:00-6:00 p.m. Stop in and try a pre-race ice cream or a selection from their awesome food menu!

Since its inception in 1964, the Men of Marian has shared Marian Catholic High School’s mission “to develop students spiritually, morally, academically, and socially.” Through its efforts and legacy, Marian has been able to create a tradition of academic and athletic excellence.  The Men of Marian's purpose is to provide the school with the necessary financial support to offset the costs of both academic and athletic programs the school may not otherwise be able to provide. Its efforts have been able to provide Marian’s athletic programs with transportation, insurance, sports medicine, and uniforms, and have been able to provide academic programs with educational tools and resources, and students with financial aid and support.

Course Modification

Since we use farm land for our course, we needed to make a modification due to the farmer's crop rotation. This adjustment makes the course much simpler when exiting the woods. See the attached picture, or check out the registration website for the details. We will have this section well marked, have proper signage, and a race volunteer available to give you directions while on the course!

5K Run- will take place on Marian’s Cross Country Course. This course consists of road running out on Marian Avenue, left on Field Road, Left on Church Road, through the marked trail, taking runners through the countryside and farmland surrounding the school, back to the school, climbing the hill to the football field, and back to the starting line.

3K Walk- will take place on road heading out towards Versum Materials, taking left on Fairview St, making left turn onto Church Road, then to Field Road (Past St. Peter’s Church and Flexer Photography) and back to Marian.

Lisa Napoletano was a Freshman this past year at Marian and a member of the Cross Country and Track and Field teams. Early this March, she was involved in an unfortunate ATV accident and passed away from her injuries. The Marian Community, Cross Country Team, and Track and Field Team was blessed to know her and have her in our lives, even for such a short period of time. Part of this event is dedicated to her memory and the impact she had on her school and her teams. In order to honor her, her family has set up a scholarship fund and non-profit organization "Lisa Napoletano-Running with the Angels" honoring her memory that is awarded to a member of the Cross Country Team, Track and Field Team, or is active in Snowboarding and that display strong team spirit and values academics. This option allows you to donate towards the scholarship fund in her memory as she Runs with the Angels.

10K-For this first installment of this feature of our race, we will recognize the top overall Male and Female with a plaque and a $25 visa gift card!

5K Run-Top overall Male and Female will receive a plaque and a $25 visa gift card.

Both 5K Run and 3K Walk-Top 3 in each age group will receive a medal. First place in each group will receive a $15 prize package including a visa gift card and gift cards to local businesses! Age groups include 15& Under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and Masters Division (50+).

Kid's Mile Race- Top 3 overall runners will be recognized!
