Join us this June for the first race to be held at the beautiful Arboretum, State Botanical Garden of Kentucky in the heart of Lexington! John’s Run/Walk Shop and the Arboretum have teamed up to bring you The Hundred Acre 5k- a fun new race to let you experience your favorite place to run or walk in a whole new way! Bring your little ones and stick around after the race for the children’s fun-run (ages 2-10). Both the 5k and the Children's Mile will be run on a safe course closed to traffic through the beautiful Arboretum, State Botanical Garden of Kentucky. All 5k participants will receive a Hundred Acre 5k race T-shirt and Arboretum-themed finisher award. All children participating in the fun run will receive a free day admission to the Kentucky’s Children Garden and a ribbon.
Proceeds from the race benefit the continued improvement of the Kentucky Children’s Garden. The Kentucky Children’s Garden is a safe, two acre outdoor learning environment designed to help children 2 to 10 years old discover plants and the environment. In the garden, children can explore an integrated combination of various “child-scaled” theme gardens and garden-like elements for experiential play.
Packet pickup will be at John's Run/Walk Shop at 317 S. Ashland Avenue from 4-7 pm on June 21st, and June 22nd.
