Start your Cinco de Mayo celebration with a run through Roseland, CA! Join the Movimiento on a 5k or 10k on a course that takes you through the neighborhood of Roseland, CA beginning and ending at Bayer Neighborhood Park and Gardens! Students run for only $5! Plus this year we have added a FREE Carrera de Ninõs (kid's run)! 


The purpose of Roseland’s Cinco de Mayo Run is to build community, healthy lifestyles in Roseland, CA. Families are invited to participate in the run and join the finish line Health & Wellness Festival, featuring age-division awards, food, and a celebration of Latino culture. All on the morning of Cinco de Mayo!


The 5k and 10k Course - This flat course will begin at Bayer Neighborhood Park and Garden, and head North and onto historic Sebastopol Rd. Runners will head towards Roseland Creek Elementary school using a bit of dirt trail at the site of a future Santa Rosa park. After a long straight section on Burbank Ave, runners will turn East on Hearn ave using another dirt trail then onto Dutton Ave. Having just about circled Roseland runners race back to Bayer Neighborhood Park and Gardens for finish line festivities. Carrera de Ninõs - This year we have added a kid's run to the event. Ages 10 and under are invited to sign up for free and run 2 loops around Bayer Neighborhood Park. Accomplishment ribbons for all. The Carrera de Ninõs will take place before the 5k/10k start. Kids who start running young are more likely to use running as a tool for physical and mental health as they develop. 


Post-Race Health & Wellness Festival - All are invited to join in the post race Health & Wellness Festival featuring age-division awards, a celebration of Latino culture, and healthy snacks. Sponsor booths will feature advice on maintaining fun active lifestyles, nutrition, yoga and stretching and more.


We Appreciate Volunteers - Don’t want to run, but still want to be part of the fun? There will be several volunteer opportunities before, during and after the event including goodie bag stuffing, bib-pickup assistance, race route guides, award distribution and more. All volunteers receive a commemorative shirt.

  • 7:45-8:45am Race Check In

  • 8:50am Carrera de Ninõs (Kid's Run)

  • 9:00am 10k Begins / 9:10am 5k Begins

  • 9:30am Post-race celebration opens as first finishers arrive back in park

  • 10:30am: Movimiento Roseland Runners Awards

  • 12:00pm: Post Race Celebration Closes


Movimiento Roseland Runners, K-12 Running Program - Proceeds from the 5K/10k benefit the Movimiento Roseland Runners (MRR). MRR Mission: To promote equity, healthy lifestyles, and stronger communities through a structured K-12 running program. Students will work with coaches and mentors to set goals, build self-esteem, and train for a 10K or 5k race in the spring. Students will be able to draw on this sense of hard work and achievement to actualize their dreams in all aspects of their lives.
